Through the Wall stores the information needed to run prediction pools: your sign-in identifier, email supplied by your authentication provider, username, pool memberships, predictions, progress, optional notification preferences, optional Heat Check ratings and flags, and feedback or support messages you choose to send.
Poolmates can see your username, public progress, and eligible scores. Predictions are hidden until the applicable lock conditions are met. Friend-pool Heat Check scorecards are shared only when you opt in. Global Heat Check shows combined averages and flag totals, not named individual scorecards. When a pool owner sends an email invitation, only that owner and the invitation recipient can see the invitation address. Invitations can be claimed only through the verified address supplied by the recipient’s sign-in provider.
Email notifications are off by default. If you opt in, Through the Wall may email you when new episodes become available or a friend completes a phase. You can turn these messages off at any time in Settings.
If you send a message through the feedback and support form, Through the Wall includes your account email and limited app context, such as the current screen, pool identifier, and season identifier, so the maintainer can understand and reply to the request. The message itself is excluded from analytics and masked from session replay. Support messages are sent to the project maintainer’s inbox.
Through the Wall uses Plausible Analytics for aggregate, cookieless traffic measurement and PostHog for product analytics used to understand invitation funnels, retention, feature use, and interest in possible paid features. After sign-in, PostHog associates product events with your Firebase user identifier. Through the Wall does not send your email address, username, prediction content, or Heat Check scorecards to PostHog.
PostHog uses cookies and browser storage and may record a replay of how you use the app. Form inputs are masked, elements that display account or invitation details are blocked from replay, and recorded URLs have their query strings removed before they are sent. PostHog data for this beta is hosted in its European Union Cloud region. Plausible continues to provide the separate aggregate traffic view.
Firebase provides authentication, database, and server functions, Firebase Hosting hosts the website, and configured email providers deliver queued messages. Plausible provides aggregate traffic analytics. PostHog provides identified product analytics, feature flags, and masked session replay. These providers process technical information needed to operate, improve, and secure the service.
You can leave pools from Settings. You can also delete your account from Settings; this removes your profile, notification preference, invitations, invitation and feedback rate-limit records, game data, client error reports, and queued email associated with your account, and it deletes pools you own. Messages already delivered to an inbox, including support messages, cannot be recalled. Analytics records and limited security and operational records held by service providers may be retained where reasonably necessary.
